Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs)

Polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a type of hydrocarbon, which is a chemical molecule made up of only carbon and hydrogen. Three of the most basic of these chemicals are naphthalene, anthracene, and phenanthrene. PAHs are organic molecules that form solids that are mostly clear, white, or pale yellow. Most of the time, they act as middlemen in the chemical, pharmaceutical, farming, photographic, thermosetting plastics, lubricating, and other industries.
